It’s been a transfer window of all sorts for the outgoing defending premier league champions this year too. With managerial appointments and the legal puzzle taking up the majority of the time allocated to premier league teams for transfers, it seems like Jorginho is the only but legitimate signing of the season for the blues as of now.
But the main question is, does Chelsea need any more signings?
The dismissal of Conte and the appointment of Sarri made sure the star players of the squad who were unhappy under the previous Italian manager were kept happy and would not move away. Plus Chelsea’s huge loan army has some names like Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Kurt Zouma that can rise to the occasion for Sarri and his staff who will have a go at English football come August 5 in the FA Community Shield. Plus the tight transfer budget after a seemingly busy summer last season, and a possible stadium renovation plans might also be the reasons for the lack of recruitment. But young Callum Hudson-Odoi and fresh faces like Ross Barkley might be enough for a manager who has experience of dealing with fewer star names in the squad and still competing for the Serie A title while the ex-banker plied his trade at Napoli. Well Marina, if you have any problems in tallying your balance sheets during the season, Sarri’s banking experience might help you. Only thing is he’s happy tallying your sheets with trophies come May 2019.
