La Liga’s one of the most fierce fixtures, the Madrid Derby, is back as the two clubs of the capital city go head to head for the second time this season. It always has been a heated encounter and it will remain so forever. This match is known for it’s physicality and passion all over the pitch. Showers of cards for both sides is the prime characteristic of the Madrid Derby so let’s get ready to watch the warriors on the pitch who’ll surely entertain you on the Saturday night.

Real Madrid

Real Madrid have won 4 out of 5 of their La Liga matches and are in fairly good form. A draw against Barcelona in their last Copa del Rey match was a satisfying result as they did return home with an away goal advantage. Benzema and Vinicius jr are Real’s main in form players. The former is has been scoring goals in the five  matches before the previous one and the latter is bagging assists. Benzema took long to get his name consistently on the scoring sheet but he has found his goalscoring boots now. Sergio Ramos again is one of the key players of the team as the Spaniard besides defending well, has also proved his mettle at scoring spot kicks and set pieces.

Injuries and Suspension

Diego Llorente was seen limping off in the last match against Barcelona so he’ll most likely not play the match. Jesus Vallejo and Enzo Zidane still have hamstring problems so they add to the injury list.

Atletico Madrid

Diego Simeone’s side have only lost twice in the league this season making the side who’ve lost the least matches. Although they have drawn 8 times which is not a very good record for a top team. The match will be played at Wanda Metropolitano which helps them to enjoy the home crowd’s support. This is an advantage as Atletico have not yet lost a home game in the league this season. The good news is Diego Godin, Koke and Saul are expected to feature again as they’ve recovered from their injuries.

Injuries and Suspensions

Diego Costa is still unavailable, as he recovers from foot surgery, while Stefan Savic will be absent due to an Achilles problem.

Predicted Score:

 Atletico Madrid 1-1 Real Madrid

Jan Oblak is undoubtedly one of the top three goalkeepers in the world and Atletico has only conceded 14 goals yet this season (least in La Liga) which is much due to his presence.

Sergio Ramos is one of the top defenders who’s also good at scoring goals via set pieces and penalties.

Deigo Godin who’ll be back in the lineup most probably should make it to your XI as he’s one of the most elite defenders in Europe.

Lucas Hernandez should be chosen over Marcelo as the latter is often caught off position while defending.

Carvajal with his crosses and defending is easily a better option over Arias.

Rodri is shining bright at Atletico hence can be preffered.

Modric with his playmaking skills might impress in the midfield.

Thomas Partey is another good option which is a reasonable pick considering budget.

Antoine Griezmann has been a consistent goal scorer for Atletico and it is expected he’ll score tomorrow as well.

Karim Benzema is another easy choice. The Frenchman has been scoring lately and with his creativity he can deliver key passes as well.

Vinicius Jr with can also be added. The Brazilian is in top form and has been increasing his assists tally routinely.
